I completed my Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing in 1995. My special interest in cardiology became apparent whilst working in the CCU as part of my pre registration specialist rotation, I was thrilled to get my first job cardiology nursing at Greenlane Hospital where I worked for 5 years. During this time I worked in a cardiology ward, transit care and CCU where I completed a graduate certificate in specialty nursing practice. I worked on a casual basis at CCU after the birth of my first child and had three year parental leave after the birth of my second child.
At the end of 2005 I started working for Waitemata Cardiology assisting the cardiologists in all diagnostic testing including exercise tolerance testing and exercise and dobutomaine stress echos. My role at Waitemata Cardiology also involves fitting patients with ambulatory blood pressure monitors, event and holter monitors.
Last year I started working at North Shore Hospital on a casual basis in cardiology procedures.
I am passionate about prevention, early detection and prompt treatment of heart disease.
Away from the work place I enjoy running, yoga, touch rugby, boating, fishing, and spending quality time with close friends and family.
